Would you let a Robot bartender make your next Cocktail?

Would you let a Robot bartender make your next Cocktail?  If you plan on going to The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, you now have the chance to have that happen.  The bar, appropriately named Robo Bar, is one of only 2 bars in the world like this and we are lucky enough to have it here in Biloxi.  Wednesday night was the opening night for this robotic “bartender” to show off its skills.  Paired with some edgy techno music, this bar is a futuristic experience, unlike anything you’ve seen.

So how does it work?  Guests go to one of the tablets scattered around the bar’s lounge area and orders off of the user-friendly menus.  If paying with a credit card, the tablet will also take your payment.  The robot is programmed to make perfectly poured classic and signature cocktails but can also take requests for custom drink orders as well.  It even offers several options for those who prefer a non-alcoholic drink.  Not only are the drinks perfectly poured and mixed, but the robotic arms are speedy, too.  They can mix up to 120 drinks per hour!

Once you place your order you watch one of 4 massive screens for the progress of your order.  First, it goes in the “Drinks in Queue” list with the wait time, then over to the drinks in production list.  Finally, the finished order is listed on the screen and ready to be picked up.  With help from human hosts, drinks are delivered to your seats if you wish to be waited on.  Just remember, you don’t have to tip the robot but you should always tip your hosts.

Drinks are only offered in one size but again can be made to your specifications.  The process to customize a drink is fun when you get to choose between catchy phrases such as  Beam Me Up Scotty, The Final Countdown, Hippie in Space, Shake it Don’t Break It, and Little Rocket Man.  And if you have a question there are ambassadors available to help you out.

If you missed the grand opening, the bar is open daily from 2 pm to 10 pm, Monday through Thursday, noon to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and Sundays from noon to 9 p.m.

Would you let a robot make your next cocktail or would you prefer your standard bar?  If you are up for fun and adventure, you should come check out Robo Bar at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi.
