Real Estate Transactions – One of the things that attracted me to the business of real estate was that typically it was a positive thing: helping growing families moving up to a bigger home, assisting empty nesters with finding and buying a second home where the entire family can gather. Ahhhh, those were the days. 🙂

Today, shorts sales and foreclosures have taken over the business. The clients and customers have changed. Decisions are being made by folks sitting at a desk, being paid by the hour, that close at 5 and aren’t open on week ends. They’ve never seen the property. Don’t know the people involved. They really have no stake in the community. HELLO!

Many real estate transactions today involve people having lost their home or they’re on the verge of loosing their home! Families across America have seen dramatic reductions in their net worth! Retirement is being push out or ruled out! Where is the happy ending!

It’s as if I have watched the DNA of the real estate transaction change right in front of my eyes! In too many transactions, I sit at the computer, plug into the Borg (the 3rd party negotiators platform) and wait for them to shout orders and updates.  All the while, I’m wondering who I work for and will I even get paid? What????

YES, I’m whining…Hope its ok.  Its going to keep me sane in light of the circumstances so that I can morph into the broker I need to be in order to provide the best possible services to my clients 🙂 All the while, longing for the day when there were more people involved and less institutions.
