Mississippi’s Cruisin the Coast is just a few weeks away! It’s time to tune those engines, buff out that last coat of wax, and shine up those tires because you only have a little time before you are “cruisin” along Beach Boulevard. What started back in 1996 as a festival to showcase antique and hot rod vehicles has grown into becoming one of Mississippi Coast’s greatest events. Only 374 vehicles registered during the first year. Last year, in 2015, there were over 7,600 cars registered from 41 of the 50 United States, Canada, and even Sweden!
So what exactly is Cruisin the Coast? Well, it’s been said to be one of America’s Largest Block Parties. Every year for one week in October, car enthusiasts from all over come to cruise along Mississippi’s beautiful beach coastline highway, Beach Boulevard. This year it happens to fall during the week of October 2 through October 9. During that week, the cities of Bay of St. Louis, Biloxi, D’Iberville, Gulfport, Ocean Springs, and Pass Christian host venues. These venues usually include food vendors, live music, event merchandise, and parking for registered cruisers and spectators. As a registered cruiser, you get access into all the venues and reserved parking. They can also partake in events like cruise-ins, a Salute to our Veterans, car auctions, swap meets, and more! Whether you’re registered or just a spectator, if you like to talk cars, you’ve come to the right place. Maps and schedules are available to let you know what it going on and where.
Mississippi’s Cruisin the Coast is just a few weeks away! If you haven’t already made reservations for this upcoming Cruisin’, you may find it difficult to find a place to stay. Hotels, vacation rentals, and RV camps start booking up a year in advance for this popular event. If not this year, start planning to come next year. Any car enthusiast should definitely come down to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and celebrate their love of cars with other car enthusiasts from all over!
