Gulfport Music Festival’s rain didn’t dampen fan enthusiasm

Gulfport Music Festival’s rain didn’t dampen fan enthusiasm!  Come rain, come shine, music fans don’t usually let anything get in the way of enjoyment of chart toppers’ performances. Um, remember Woodstock?

Though some bands had to be sent home without performing during the 2013 Gulfport Music Festival on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, others set up and proceeded to help the crowd forget the stormy weather overhead. Time delays due to the main stage sinking into the saturated Jones Park location didn’t stop the music, either, and fans couldn’t have been happier with the results.

On Friday, Awolnation, Airbourne, and the Mulligan Brothers kicked things off, while One Republic,  the Smashing Pumpkins, and Whiz Khalifa took center stage Saturday night, prompting the crowd to surge toward the stage to get a better look.
