No matter where you spend new year, we hope you enjoy it.  If you are new to the coast you may not know about how we celebrate New Years here.  It is very traditional with fireworks, but our venue is unique due to our long coastline.  My family and I like to spend it together either at one of the local cities harbors or out in the Mississippi sound on a boat.

Both, from the Gulfport harbor or out front in the sound you can see fireworks for as far as the eye can see.  It is truly an amazing and somewhat fearful event.  I say fearful, because the fireworks are shot off from barges close to the harbors.  This allows you to get so close that your body shakes when the mortars explode, filling the night sky with splendid colors.

As stated before, one of my most favorite aspects is seeing all of the fireworks purchased by individuals being shot from the sandy beach.  the night sky lights up with the colors of the new year.  Next year we hope you come down and join us for for your Happy New Year.
