Hurricane Isaac Beach Update! A Blustery Day

Hurricane Isaac Beach Update!  Hurricane Isaac was a blustery Category 1 hurricane that came ashore in August of 2012.  It was the 9th named storm of the hurricane season.   MS governor Phill Bryant declared a state of emergency the evening of August 26, 2012.  On August 28th a 8.3-foot (2.5 m) storm surge was reported for Harrison County.  Reportedly wind gusts reached 70 Miles Per Hour(MPH) in Gulfport.  Hurricane Isaac may have dampened our Labor Day celebrations but with the exceptions of some beach cleaning that is ongoing, Biloxi and Gulfport are open for business.  The beach maintenance crews will have all of the debris removed in a few days.
